Dr. Purvi Kadakia Kutty completed her undergraduate medical education from T.N. Medical College & Nair Hospital, Mumbai in the year 2003. She then pursued her postgraduate training in Pediatrics at the same institute. During the course of her training in Pediatrics she became interested in the treatment of blood related disorders and pediatric cancers, soon she realized that she would be, best able to treat these diseases only if she was properly trained to do so.
She then worked at Tata Memorial Hospital in the Pediatric cancer department; during this period she qualified for the specialized training in Pediatric Hematology & Oncology at Wadia Children Hospital. This prestigious 2-year fellowship programme (FNB conducted by National Board of Examinations) trained her in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. She also has a fellowship in the same field from Indian Academy of Pediatrics (FIAP).
She was In Charge and set up the Pediatric Oncology Unit and services at T.N.M.C, B.Y.L. Nair Hospital during her tenure as Assistant Professor Pediatric Oncology from 2013-2017.
She then joined as Full time senior consultant Pediatric Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant Physician in the Division of Pediatric Hematology & Oncology at L.T.M.M.C Sion Hospital for a duration of 2 years. She is designated as the lead clinician for ACT Clinic (After Completion of Therapy) at L.T.M.G.H,Sion.
During her tenure at Sion she has participated in multiple national and international clinical trials in thalassemia, hemophilia and childhood cancersurvivorship programmes. She has a keen interest in teaching, and has been invited as faculty to conduct national training workshops in pediatric oncology and hematology.
She has to her credit numerous publications, oral and poster presentations in national and international conferences and has contributed to chapters in several books. She is affiliated with MHG, INPOG, SIOP and PHO Chapter of IAP.
Her special interests are pediatric blood cancers, nutritional interventions for children with cancer,long term follow up of childhood cancer survivors and Thalassemia.
With her expertise, she is keen to develop a state of the art Pediatric Oncology and Bone marrow Transplant facility with a fellowship programme at Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai.
